This is a training program in advanced project management – designed for experienced project managers and project
owners/sponsors.

Type of training


The program consists of four processes:

   
1.
Preparation period in early December 2012 where you study pre-reading material and make initial analysis of your project.   

2. Intensive course on January 2013 where the use of real life cases from the participants makes the training very practical and gives extra benefit for those who provide the cases.  
        
3.
Practice period over several months where you apply relevant input from the course and where you be-weekly to have mutual sparring in groups of three training participants.
  
4.
Option of a virtual follow-up meeting during 2013 where the content of the training is refreshed – and the participants exchange
experiences from managing their own projects. 


 

Training objective


From the training program you will learn to:

       
1.
Plan and evaluate the project management effort for a specific project including to specify the challenges of managing the project, to select appropriate project management initiatives and tools - and to assess the outcome of the effort.

        
2.
Organise the preparation and start-up of your projects professionally including preparing and handling preparation and start-up
workshops.

        
3.
Perform the role as facilitator at workshops and meeting including applying a technique for promotion interaction between the
  participants of the session.

        
4.
Apply project analysis methods for clarifying risks of the project execution and clarifying the project environment including the
interested parties.

        
5.
Apply project planning methods which promotes development of shared understanding of the parties and participants concerning the objectives, frames, milestones and organization of the project.

        
6.
Sharpen your leadership behavior in projects by self-assessing your behavioral competencies and getting feedback from others.

The course is taught in English.

 

Time and location

 

January 2013, time: 8:30-18:00. The course will be at RU Open University.

Duration; 3 days, 29,5 hours


Fee

 

169.000  ISK per person. The fee covers extensive course manual, lunch and refreshments each day. In addition participants receive the books Competencies in Project Management and Proactive Project Management by Morten Fangel.

Cancellations 4 weeks or more before event - No charge for cancellations.

Cancellations 2 weeks before event - 50% of fee charged.

For cancellations in 1 week or less before event - Full fee charged.
