Opni háskólinn í Háskólanum í Reykjavík og tækni- og verkfræðideild Háskólans í Reykjavík bjóða uppá námskeið á meistararstigi sem henta vel þeim sem vilja safna einingum í meistaragráðu.
Opni háskólinn sér um innritun nemenda í stök námskeið á meistarastigi en tækni- og verkfræðideild sér um faglega stjórnun námskeiðanna. Umsækjendur þurfa að skila inn prófskírteinum þegar sótt er um námskeið. Nemendur sem innritast í námskeiðið í gegnum Opna háskólann sitja sömu námskeið og þeir nemendur sem eru skráðir í meistaranám í tækni- og verkfræðideild HR og þurfa því að uppfylla sömu inngönguskilyrði.
Umsækjendur hafa val um að sitja námskeiðið án eininga og taka þá ekki þátt í verkefnavinnu og þreyta próf. Þeir nemendur sem fullnægja kröfum um námsmat fá einingar metnar.
Námskeiðslýsing:
Construction activity generates cost and this has to be forecast accurately and controlled if projects are to be successful both for clients and contractors. Methods used in practice vary according to local custom and practice, but there are commonly-accepted principles and practices that have almost universal application. Confusion between cost and price is commonplace and communicating a correct understanding of what is and is not included in a price, together with its validity, are paramount. Competition for contracts is normally based on tendering/bidding and is controlled by codes of practice governing confidentially and fairness, amongst other factors. Another approach is negotiation where open book estimating may be practiced, but even here methods of cost estimating may be expected to conform to conventional practice. In this course, you will learn how to build up a construction cost from first principles then convert it to a tender/bid. The basis of assumptions and allowances is considered and the means for anticipating design risk and price risk are taken into account with other contingencies. Nowadays, most cost estimating is ICT-based with databases of costs and supporting information used to compile cost estimates and convert them into tender/bid prices. The emergence of e-procurement requires an understanding of ICT-based tools and systems, and the legal implications arising from online tendering/bidding.
